The agent of Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has blasted the SFA and the Compliance Officer role as the nation’s footballing powerbrokers finally appoint someone to the job.
The controversial compliance officer position has been left vacant ever since the departure of Clare Whyte earlier in the campaign with Andrew Phillips appointed in her place.
This role in particular and the SFA’s retrospective disciplinary process has come in for considerable criticism in recent weeks from Rangers for the re-refereeing of matches.
Both Gers striker Alfredo Morelos and fellow forward Kemar Roofe suffered retrospective bans at the hands of the Hampden powers that be for incidents in recent matches involving Rangers.
There’s a feeling that the Gers more often than not bear the brunt of this process whilst similar incidents involving other clubs go unchecked.
That’s a feeling clear echoed by Morelos’ agent Michael Gorman who believes his client is unfairly treated by the retrospective disciplinary process in Scotland.
“We can only hope that Morelos will finally receive fair treatment in the SPFL going forward,” tweets Gorman [Twitter].
“The current double standard applied by the FA is an embarrassment to the game.”
Rangers fans too have railed against the process in recent weeks with the trial by media in particular drawing the ire of Ibrox supporters.
