Rangers fans brand commentary duo an “absolute embarrassment” for coverage

As Rangers ran out impressive 1-0 winners against Hibs at Easter Road, you could almost hear the squelching pain of Sky Sports commentary duo Ian Crocker and Andy Walker.

As Alfredo Morelos scored the only goal of the game, an earlier flashpoint came into focus when Morelos “stamped” on Hibs grunt Ryan Porteous.

The incident – which looks much worse in slow motion and was perhaps a little cheeky – was painstakingly poured over by Andy Walker for almost the entire match.

Similarly, Ian Crocker couldn’t get enough of it and seemingly with a hotline to Compliance Officer Clare Whyte, was adamant on the final whistle there would be retrospective action.

And yet, not a mention of the Darren McGregor stamp on Glen Kamara or the reckless challenge in the opening minute which exemplifies the grace of their diddy centre-half Porteous.

Morelos would have the last laugh with his goal early in the second half – hilariously played onside by wonderkid Porteous – and the saltiness reached peak once that hit the back of the net.

Rangers fans have raised eyebrows in the past as to why the commentary duo work on matches involving the Ibrox club and once again Walker and Crocker took both barrels on Twitter:

The win was only Steven Gerrard’s second in five trips to Easter Road as the Gers maintained a 23-point lead in the Scottish Premiership.

Here’s how the players rated in the match as Rangers ran out comfortable 1-0 winners in Edinburgh.
