On Tuesday afternoon, exciting prospect Josh McPake took part in a Twitter Q+A for the Rangers Youth Development Company.
Intriguingly, he revealed he wants to stay and fight for a first-team spot, rather than heading out on loan this season.
Over the course of the session, he also fielded multiple other questions put to him by supporters. The teenager named his dream five-a-side team and discussed the toughest defenders he’s come up against.
Perhaps most interestingly, though, he named the senior player he looks up to the most in the current Gers squad.
Scott Arfield.

Rangers star Scott Arfield is a class act

Ever since arriving from Burnley last summer, Arfield has been a hit with the Ibrox faithful.
He carries himself impressively, gives his all for the badge and impresses off the field. The Canada captain has auctioned off memorabilia to raise money for good causes, sent birthday messages to fans and much more.

It seems he’s happy to give up his time to help develop the club’s best young talent, too.
As an international with a wealth of Premier League experience, there aren’t many better players about for McPake to learn from.
Fittingly, Arfield was introduced at the same time as the teenager, when he made his Ibrox debut a fortnight ago.
Hopefully, this up and coming talent will put the advice of senior players into practice over the coming years, and establish himself as a big Ibrox hit.
