Rangers captain James Tavernier has sent a special thank you to the doctor who helped quickly deal with the full-back’s appendix issue and provide an operation.
Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard revealed that after coming home from Dubai Tav had to go undergo surgery [Rangers] after complaining about pains in his abdomen.
After saying everything went to plan, Tavernier has taken to Twitter to thank Dr McCourtney and all the staff at Ross Hall hospital.
It’s a nice touch from the Rangers captain who also revealed in the post that his stitches came out from the operation today.
It’s the next step on the road to recovery for the marauding wing-back who’s presence in the Rangers side has been missed in the last two matches.
Despite picking up victories against Stranraer and St. Mirren, Rangers have missed Tavernier’s formidable presence on that right-hand side.
Stand-in Jon Flanagan might’ve disappointed some supporters with his performance in the 1-0 win over St. Mirren but not Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard.
The Gers manager praised the full-back’s contribution in comments which hint that Flanno will retain his place in Tavernier’s absence [Rangers].

Tavernier’s absence from the Rangers side has produced one positive, however, with young Nathan Patterson taking the plaudits from the Ibrox support for his performance at right-back in the 2-0 win over Stranraer.
Tavernier is expected to return in the coming weeks and the club’s supporters will eagerly await the return of the Ibrox captain.
