Rangers star Connor Goldson is on course to pull off a remarkable individual feat with the end of the season now in sight.

A lot of players have put in a big shift over the course of the current campaign, with the Gers taking part in multiple competitions.

The full-backs have been outstanding, Steven Davis has shone in the middle of the park and Ryan Kent has been a near ever-present in the starting XI in the left-sided attacking berth.

However, none of those Gers stars come close to Connor Goldson in terms of minutes played.

Perhaps it’s an unfair comparison for everyone else, though, for it simply wouldn’t be possible to have played more minutes than the centre-back and vice-captain, as he has been on the pitch for every single second of Rangers’ season.

He has played 48 matches from start to finish, which can be broken down into 33 Premiership games, three Europa League qualifiers, ten Europa League clashes and two League Cup ties.

The 28-year-old has 4320 minutes under his belt, scoring eight goals, notching three assists and contributing to a plethora of clean sheets.

His numbers are outstanding and with just five Premiership clashes and a Scottish Cup run to come, he’s on course to play every minute of the 2020/21 season.

Should he get there, it would be an incredible achievement, which would show not only that he’s remarkably durable, but also that he’s extremely committed and ultra-consistent.

Goldson played a massive part in securing 55 and he’ll be hoping to contribute to a first Scottish Cup triumph for the club since 2009, but surely by this point, he’ll have an eye on some personal glory, too.

One of Goldson’s teammates looks set to leave Ibrox in the summer but another says he has opened contract negotiations with the club.
