Amid considerable criticism after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hearts in the Premiership, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has sent a clear message to those questioning him.

Morelos’ start to the 2021/22 season hasn’t been disastrous by any means.

He has five goals and two assists to his name from 15 appearances, with one of the goals an important winner against Hibernian just before the latest international break.

By the same token, he hasn’t quite hit the heights he’s reached in the past and at the weekend, he missed a great chance to double the Gers’ advantage just a few minutes prior to Craig Halkett’s late equaliser.

It wasn’t the only opening the Colombia international wasted across the 90 minutes, either, and if he’d been more clinical, Steven Gerrard’s side would have a four-point lead at the top of the table.

El Bufalo has been a popular figure pretty much ever since he arrived at Ibrox in 2017, but he’s received criticism both on social media and in the press over the past few days.

He hit back on Monday night, posting a simple and clear response on social media.

On his Instagram story, Morelos shared an image of a past celebration in which he’s making a shushing gesture and captioned it with five shushing emojis and two wink face emojis.

The 25-year-old is set for a chance to silence his critics on the pitch on Thursday night when the Gers take on Brondby in the Europa League at Ibrox and if he does score in the game, he’ll reach the 100-goal mark for the club.

A Rangers loanee had no problems in front of goal at the weekend, scoring a late winner in a tight contest.
