Rangers star Borna Barisic, who has been linked with Serie A giants Roma, has nailed his colours to the Ibrox mast with passionate comments [Glasgow Live].
It took the Croatia international some time to settle in Glasgow following his switch from Osijek in the summer of 2018, but he’s blossomed into a brilliant left-back and he played a key role in the Gers’ recent title success.

The 28-year-old contributes a lot at both ends of the pitch, as Rangers’ outstanding defensive record and his tallies of five goals and 14 assists from the 2020/21 campaign indicate.
Numbers such as those are always going to attract admirers and Steven Gerrard confirmed in January that Roma had registered their interest [The Times].
It seems that Barisic has no intention of leaving Ibrox anytime soon, though, as, in an interview in his homeland, he raved about the club.
“That club is unique,” he said [Glasgow Live]. “When it creeps into your heart it stays there forever. I can just say I love Rangers. Honestly.”
“Offers are normal in football but when I talk about the club and the fans, it is a big wonderful family. They totally won me over.
“I had bad times too, we didn’t win the league for the first two seasons. But now that I see how full their hearts are, that sincere joy and love for the club, it’s fantastic.
“Of course, far be it for me to say no,” he added when asked if he’d consider a switch to a top-five European league. “But I can’t comment on anything, I have a contract for another two-and-a-half years, we will see what the future will bring.”

Rangers supporters will be delighted by these words from Barisic, who has become a firm fan favourite.
He’s instrumental to the Gers’ playing style and if the club can hold onto him this summer, he’ll play a big role in next season’s title defence.
Barisic’s compatriot and close friend Niko Katic is also a fan favourite, and supporters rejoiced on social media when he was snapped wearing an item from the Champions collection on holiday earlier this week.
