Rangers fans have responded on social media after Nikola Katic was snapped wearing a 55 bucket hat on holiday.

Katic has been a big fan favourite at Ibrox ever since his arrival from Slaven Belupo in the summer of 2018.

He’s a physical, no-nonsense defender who’s also a big handful from set-pieces, with his best moment to date in Light Blue a thumping header that clinched an Old Firm win at Parkhead in December 2019.

The 24-year-old missed the entirety of the 2020/21 season due to a serious knee injury but had recovered sufficiently to do some pitch work at Ibrox on the eve of trophy day and he stayed on into the following week to continue working hard at Auchenhowie.

It looks as though he’s now taking a break from rehab, though, as he posted a holiday picture on Instagram on Thursday.

Unsurprisingly, Bears were delighted to see him modelling club kit in his spare time and he received plenty of praise on Twitter.

It’s the second time this week that a player has taken to social media in Rangers merchandise after Jermain Defoe wore training gear for a kickabout in his garden.
