Rangers attacker Kemar Roofe has teased his return to fitness on Instagram with the Premiership clash against Celtic now just eight days away.
Roofe was arguably the club’s highest-profile signing of the transfer window when he arrived from Anderlecht for an undisclosed fee in August.

After working himself up to match fitness, the former Leeds United man made six appearances, netting in home wins over Kilmarnock and Dundee United.
Injury then struck, though.
Roofe was forced off in the first half of the second-round Europa League qualifier against Lincoln Red Imps in Gibraltar in mid-September.
Initially, it was thought to be just tightness in his calf, but a scan revealed a strain and Steven Gerrard than conceded that the player faced a number of weeks on the sidelines [Glasgow Times].

He’s since missed five matches in all competitions but recently, he returned to the gym with injured teammate Joe Aribo for strength work, before posting an image from the training pitch in late September.
Now, judging by his Instagram story post on Thursday, he’s looking to ramp things up.

Given that the trip to Parkhead to face Celtic is now only eight days away, he likely has a chance of being fit enough to feature in his first Old Firm, depending on what level of training session he’s been able to work up to.
The Gers were on a good run heading into the international break, but the likes of Roofe and Cedric Itten bring qualities the Celtic defence haven’t come up against before and therefore, Steven Gerrard would surely like to have both of his new attackers at his disposal.
