Rangers star Glen Kamara says he partied hard following a historic victory for Finland on Friday evening, as quoted by the Daily Record.

That valuation could climb even further if things go well this summer, as he’s set to be taking part in Euro 2020.

He played the full 90 minutes in Helsinki in a 3-0 win over Lichtenstein, which secured the country’s first-ever qualification for a major tournament, and he says the result kickstarted a big night of festivities.

“I had a long, long night that ended up early in the morning…let’s just put it that way! said Kamara, as quoted by the Daily Record. “There were fantastic celebrations in Finland.”

“Everyone has sent me a message of congratulations. Of course, I got one from Steven Gerrard and many of my Rangers teammates. The news certainly reached Scotland.”

It’s not a case of recovering and returning to Glasgow straight away, though. There’s still one last group game remaining, against Greece in Athens on Monday evening.

“This match against Greece is also really important too because it will determine whether we will be third or fourth seeds in the draw for the Finals,” Kamara added.

Verdict

The Gers midfielder certainly deserved to celebrate long into the night after being a part of a fantastic achievement.

To qualify for the Euros with a game to spare at the expense of higher-profile footballing nations like Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina is mightily impressive.

Kamara is now well-established at both international and club level, following his move from Dundee in January.

Heading into what is a huge December for the Gers, the fans will now just be hoping that he can emerge from this final qualifier fit and well, so he will be free to help his club teammates continue their quest for success on multiple fronts.
