Rangers star Alex Lowry has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is set to sign a new deal at Ibrox by posting a cryptic message on his Instagram amid intensifying reports.

The youngster shared an image of himself playing for the Rangers first team with a series of egg-timers suggesting a big announcement is imminent.

The 18-year-old has been a stand-out for the Rangers B team this season and has broken through into the first team, making four appearances to date.

This post also comes amid reports suggesting Rangers are set to offer Alex Lowry a bumper new contract worth a reported £5k per week.

According to Football Insider, Rangers have offered the youngster a three-year deal worth around £780k in total.

This – according to that report – comes after the midfielder had rejected Rangers’ initial offer.

Are Rangers closing in on new Alex Lowry contract?

Scotland U19s talent Alex Lowry broke through into the Gers side this season and has looked every inch the top prospect that Rangers are known to recognise him as.

A graceful, elegant footballer with an eye for a pass and the ability to shoot from range, Alex Lowry has already captured the hearts of Rangers fans and now the club hope to capture his future.

The Ibrox youngster’s current deal expires at the end of next season so it is in Rangers’ best interests to sort out a contract sooner rather than later.

If the news is accurate Rangers fans will be glad to hear that the club are moving to sign up the Gers talent, who is currently sidelined with an unexplained injury.

Rangers fans will be hoping that the message on Instagram is the latest nod to a new contract for Alex Lowry, who is fast becoming one of the most popular youngsters at the club.

Lowry isn’t he only Rangers kid making waves at Ibrox either with the Gers also locked in a contract battle amid Premier League interest in a goalscoring phenom.
