Rangers star breaks transfer silence; nothing ruled out as club named

Rangers star Ianis Hagi has broken the silence regarding his future amid high-profile links to a range of clubs around Europe – but there’s one place he wants to eventually wind up more than any other.

The son of legendary attacking midfielder Gheorghe, Hagi Jnr has reiterated he is enjoying life at Rangers but that he’d like to one day follow in his father’s footsteps at Galatasaray.

Romania’s greatest ever export Gheorghe played for Galatasaray between 1996 and 2001 and ended his career in Istanbul.

Established Romanian football journalist Emmanuel Rosu quoted the 22-year-old Ibrox talent as having claimed one day he’d relish a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Speaking amid links to a range of clubs around Europe, including Italian side Lazio, Spanish club Sevilla and newly promoted German outfit VfL Bochum, Hagi was tight-lipped about his future.

But one things for sure, so long as he is at Rangers he completely committed to the club and he trusts his representatives to carve out the right path for him in his career.

“At the moment I am on vacation, I will definitely go to the national team and then I will be on vacation for a few more weeks,” said Hagi [Pro Sport].

“I’m at a huge club, a club with an incredible mentality, where I can grow a lot. My future must be discussed with the impresarios, with those from the club.

“My future? We have a well-established plan for where I want to go, what I want to achieve from my career.

“I am very calm, all that depends on me is to be on the field, to play as well as possible and the good things will come to me.

“The teams come and follow us, me and my colleagues from Rangers, because we had a good season.

“My future is in good hands, with the impresarios I have now. It’s their job to take care of my future. As long as I perform on the field, things will be resolved.”

Rangers fans will be hoping to keep Hagi around at Ibrox for as long as possible as there’s a feeling he hasn’t quite reached the peak of his powers in Glasgow yet.

However one of the clubs most prominently linked to the player has just received a timely cash boost following their success this season.
