Rangers have spoken out after the latest BBC Scotland incident involving the club. The incident involves a situation were a panellist on live television referenced Rangers with domestic abuse.
On BBC Scotland’s The Nine programme on 22/03/19 [originally aired 9pm] an Advocate for a women’s rights charity made the statement. Nicola Gilchrist said, “domestic abuse is not a black eye after The Rangers lose or something”.
Fans were furious after the incident and now it seems so are Rangers. An unnamed spokesperson for the club spoke to The Scottish Sun.

“The first thing to be stressed is that domestic abuse should be condemned at every opportunity,” said the spokesperson.
“Once again, however, the BBC provided a platform from which Rangers could be denigrated.
“Astounding to hear”
“Even so, it was astounding to hear Nicola Gilchrist single out Rangers. Perhaps she would like to explain why, while discussing this awful form of abuse, she felt it necessary to reference a club which does more than any other to help ease and eradicate the myriad of problems faced by people in our local and wider communities.”

The broadcaster was forced to apologise this season after releasing an image of Ryan Jack’s severed head in their coverage. Fans also clashed with the broadcaster over
Rangers Managing Director Stewart Robertson also spoke out against the broadcaster earlier in the year.
The club has been at loggerheads with BBC Scotland for close to a decade and this latest incident will merely inflame the situation further.
Whatever your view on the dispute, one thing is true. It’s certainly not over.
