Rangers are awaiting the results of the scan to show how long Ryan Naderi is expected to be out, given his latest injury.

Naderi picked up an injury against Dundee United and was withdrawn at half-time by Danny Rohl.

However, after the game, Rohl claimed that it was not too serious, but that may no longer be the case.

Ryan Naderi training away from Rangers first team

According to Read Rangers, sources from the training ground have claimed that Naderi has been present all week.

However, he has not been training with the rest of the team as the club are still waiting to see the severity of the injury.

The 22-year-old has also been moving unaided, so that could be a positive, indicating a quicker return.

Rangers will be hoping that it is not a serious injury, as that could rule him out for the rest of the season, as reported recently.

He dealt with multiple muscle injuries at Borussia Monchengladbach and Hansa Rostock, keeping him out of action for a number of weeks.

On one occasion, he was even ruled out for 17 games, which is quite a lengthy layoff for someone in the early stages of his career.

If he has a muscle rupture, not only will he be ruled out for the rest of the season, but he may even miss the initial stages of the pre-season campaign.

Why Naderi is so valuable to Rangers

It is evident that if Naderi is fit, he is a guaranteed starter for Rohl.

There is a reason why the German manager pushed for the Gers to sign him months before they originally planned to.

While he has not been a prolific goal scorer, the attack has looked much more fluid whenever he’s been in the team.

The 22-year-old has dropped deep on occasion and used his physicality to get others into the game.

Even Youssef Chermiti has benefited from having him play alongside him.

Not having Naderi back certainly jeopardises Rangers’ title credentials and it remains to be seen how they fare in his absence.
