Danny Rohl took off Ryan Naderi at half-time as Rangers beat Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

Naderi scored in the first half en route to Rangers’ 4-2 victory at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

With that result, the Gers are now atop the Scottish Premiership table even though it will be for just one day.

Ryan Naderi picked up injury in first half of Dundee United clash

Heart and Hand’s David Edgar claimed that Naderi had probably picked up a knock, which is why Rohl took him off at half-time.

With the striker scoring a goal as well, it seemed unlikely to be performance-related and that proved to be the case.

Via X, Edgar wrote: “Must be a knock for Naderi, he was good first half.”

Rohl later confirmed that the striker had indeed picked up an injury, but he does not know how serious it is.

The Rangers boss stated that he is facing some problems and he is unsure if he will be back in time for the game against Falkirk.

He said: “He was not OK. A little bit of problems, hopefully not too serious. This is always, if you speak, if the full squad is available, then at this moment it starts. But let’s see, we have a long week to go.”

How Rangers are likely to cope in Naderi’s absence

What Rangers proved is that they can pick up wins even with a one-striker system.

Naderi has usually played alongside Chermiti in recent weeks, so it came as a surprise when the German started without the Portuguese.

However, it worked as he found the back of the net in the first half and also looked to get into the right spaces to unsettle the opposition defenders.

There is a likelihood that Naderi will not be at 100 per cent for the game against Falkirk, which means that Chermiti is expected to start.

Rohl will also be thrilled that Bojan Miovski scored after coming off the bench.

The North Macedonia international has not been playing regularly and this goal will have given him a major confidence boost.
