Rangers’ are facing competition from Championship side Leeds United, as both club’s look to capture Ryan Kent’s services for 2019/20.
The Daily Record reports that Leeds have made a move for the 22-year-old Liverpool winger.
However, this shouldn’t unduly concern the Gers. That’s because it seems as though the odds are stacked in their favour.
Some would argue that the Championship is a higher standard of football than the SPL, and therefore, Leeds would be a more attractive proposition. Especially, as they are an ambitious club striving to return to the Premier League.
Yet, that’s not so much of a factor for a loan player. Kent belongs to Liverpool, so even if he joined Leeds and earned a promotion, there’s no guarantee he would benefit from it.
Playing in the Championship wouldn’t be a new or particularly exciting prospect for Kent, either. He’s already spent time with Barnsley and Bristol City in the second tier.

Back in March, he also admitted his frustration at chopping and changing between clubs [Express]. Therefore, some continuity in terms of a return to Rangers should be more attractive.

Daily Record] and the fans adore him at Rangers, and that he fits into the team’s playing style.
Therefore, it shouldn’t be a major surprise that the Scottish Daily Mail are reporting (10/06/19, p. 84) that the Gers are closing in on another loan deal.
If Kent is to once again leave Anfield temporarily, the Gers are surely firm favourites.
