Rangers boss Michael Beale has confirmed the club will add more staff in the coming days as a Kevin Thomson message goes viral on social media.

The Gers have already added Neil Banfield, Harry Watling and Damian Matthews to the backroom staff of the club after poaching the trio alongside Michael Beale from QPR.

But the Ibrox manager insists that the club will not be resting on their laurels and are currently looking to bring in even more names ahead of the season restarting at the end of the month.

Michael Beale has also heralded the support staff he has currently brought in whilst also nodding to one of two names set to be added in the near future.

“It’s hugely important, they have all worked at big clubs before as well,” Michael Beale told Sky Sports.

“Chelsea, West Ham, Arsenal, Neil (Banfield) worked there for 21 years alongside Arsene Wenger. That is a huge support to me. It’s the grey hair one or two maybe some don’t think I have.

“I have enough grey hair after three-and-a-half years at this club, that’s for sure. There’s more to come, there’s one or two additions in the coming weeks which will be important to the support staff.”

Rangers fans have also been musing over the idea of Kevin Thomson returning to the club after a stint as player and youth team manager.

The former Kelty Hearts boss is still without a club after leaving the SPFL side and sparked rumours of a Rangers return after uploading a picture of himself in Ibrox training gear on social media.

But despite fan excitement, the content of the ex-youth coach’s post – where he’s appealing for people to take up his coaching sessions – appears to be more about showcasing Thommo’s coaching portfolio rather than dropping hints about rejoining the Gers.

Meanwhile, a former Rangers star is on trial in the English Championship.
