Ex-Rangers striker Florian Kamberi has joined English Championship side Huddersfield Town on trial – where he’ll be assessed by the likes of Kenny Miller.
The Albanian/Swiss forward, 27, will need to wait to January to play for the club having been registered with both FC St Gallen and Winterthur this season.

Kamberi has since negotiated a released from his contract with the Swiss side and is now free to sign elsewhere, even if he’ll need to wait to play.
But nonetheless Kamberi poses an interesting option for Huddersfield with the striker – who was called up by Albania last year although he never played – looking to get his career back on track.
The ex-Grasshopper, Hibs, Rangers and Aberdeen striker spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and impressed at times, scoring five goals in 27 games for the Hillsborough club.
And now Huddersfield could be set to offer him a return to the English Football League as they run the rule over Kamberi during the World Cup break.
That’s as reported by the Examiner, who noticed Kamberi’s presence at Huddersfield training as the players returned from a short break at the beginning of the World Cup.
Kenny Miller to run rule over Kamberi at Huddersfield
Florian Kamberi’s trial stint with the Terriers also comes after the club appointed ex-Ibrox icon Kenny Miller as an assistant coach to Mark Fotheringham.
Kenny Miller claimed earlier in the week that he was delighted to be joining Huddersfield in the Championship and given the former hitman’s goalscoring credentials we reckon he’ll have a big say on any move for Kamberi.
Rangers signed Florian Kamberi on loan from Hibs in the January window of 2020 and despite only having a short pre-Covid window, the former Swiss youth international did impress as Steven Gerrard’s side crumbled.
Moving on the following summer, it’s been a rocky road for Kamberi as of late and let’s hope he can finally settle at Huddersfield as they look to get off the foot of the Championship.
Meanwhile, one Rangers-linked star looks set to be moving to La Liga.
