Rangers will secure the signing of Northern Irish youth starlet Charlie Lindsay when the youngster turns 16 in July, according to the Scottish Sun.
The talented young midfielder was a key part of Rangers’ recent ALKASS Cup squad and the East Belfast boy’s six goals earned him the tournament’s MVP award.
Lindsay became Glentoran’s youngster ever player at just 15 years and five months old and his signature is viewed as a major coup given the talent the youngster possesses.
Once compared to England legend Wayne Rooney, Lindsay has been tipped for the top by Glens Academy coach David Lowry.
“He is a box-to-box midfielder who covers every blade of grass,” said Lowry [Belfast Live].
“He is powerful and quick, and his range of passing is first class. He also knows when to pick a pass, and then he delivers it with precision. He ticks so many boxes as a footballer.
“All the young lads are very grounded and have the right attitude. That can take you a long way in football.
“Charlie epitomises all that, and that’s why he is rated so highly by Glentoran and Rangers. He has the potential to go very far, and he has a good family behind him.
“He did really well in last night’s game. He showed a few nice touches and played some good passes. Hopefully, he gets another chance in the first team this season.”
Lindsay will join up with the Ibrox side in the summer as the young Northern Irishman looks to continue his development in football.

Lindsay’s signing also follows that of fellow youth talent Leon King.
