Rangers’ rivals hilariously cry SFA conspiracy after win over Hibs

Hibs defender Ryan Porteous has once again found himself at the centre of a storm with Rangers and rivals have been crying conspiracy following the player’s most recent red card.

The Gers defeated the Edinburgh club 2-1 at Ibrox with Steven Gerrard’s side coming back from 1-0 down against 10 men to win the clash.

This – naturally – has led to come crying conspiracy as grown adult men (mostly) genuinely try and claim some ancient order handshake caused Porteous to see red.

It sounds so ridiculous when you say it like that, but that’s because it is.

Porteous flies into Rangers star Joe Aribo and had the Nigerian international not dodged the out-of-control lunge then he could be looking at a serious injury.

Don’t just take our word for it – here’s what Steven Gerrard said in the post-match:

“It’s a red card. 100%,” said Gerrard [STV].

“As someone who knows a thing or two about bad tackles, because I’ve made a few myself, it doesn’t come much worse than that.

“To go in at that speed, with that force, at that height, if he had connected with Joe Aribo then Joe’s season would have been done, for sure.

“This kid done one very similar on Lassana Coulibaly a little while ago and he obviously hasn’t learnt his lesson. Hopefully he learns moving forward because he’s let Jack down today and his staff and his players.

“At 1-0 up, if he wants to, he can play the ball. But he decides to go a foot over the ball and he’s running at some speed. Thankfully it wasn’t full contact otherwise Joe Aribo would have been in trouble.”

Despite that, rival fans of all shapes and sizes have been melting down on Twitter as they point to this completely fabricated conspiracy theory.

Get the popcorn at the ready and enjoy this blend of sweet, salty tears as the Ibrox side secure a very important three points:

This kind of stuff is seriously *chef’s kiss*.

Rangers go top of the Scottish Premiership with a 2-1 win whilst Celtic manage to consolidate sixth place with a late victory over a genuinely appalling Aberdeen side.

Rangers fans certainly didn’t appreciate the challenge and Ryan Porteous – who has previous – was called out for once again trying to damage a Rangers player.
