Rangers retailers Castore are set to sign a fresh Premier League deal with Everton against the backdrop of some high profile controversies.

According to the Telegraph, the premium sportswear brand are set to sign a deal to develop the Goodison Park club’s kits when the club’s current deal with Hummel finishes at the end of the season.

If Castore do sign the deal with Everton it will be the fourth deal they’ve struck in the English top flight but two of those contracts have recently been mired in controversy.

Resurgent Champions League outfit Newcastle United have ripped up their contract with Castore to resign a deal with historically nostalgic partners Adidas.

Castore were suitably embarrassed by the entire thing when Newcastle United accidentally leaked the news of the Adidas deal in a special fly-on-the-wall style documentary earlier in the year.

The Telegraph – who appear to be right on top of Castore and who’ve been quite suggestive in the Everton report – claim that issues with kit quality were at the centre of the situation.

Rangers retailers Castore ready Everton deal despite embarrassment

Another one of Castore’s Premier League partners is Aston Villa and the Manchester-based retailer find themselves at the centre of a storm with the Birmingham club too.

This comes with the material used to produce the Premier League side’s most recent kits retaining sweat and bogging down players on the park.

It’s lead to a mutiny within the Villa Park dressing room and yet more embarrassment for a retailer who’re really struggling to live up to their “premium” trademark.

As Castore ready a new deal with Everton, the retailer also has contracts with the likes of Preston North End and Salford City south of the border.

But the ambitious sportswear company’s first ever partnership in football was with Rangers back in 2020 and the situation has had positives and negatives at Ibrox.

Signed in the midst of the disastrous post-Mike Ashley wasteland that was Rangers’ retail operations, both sides took a risk on each other which certainly paid off.

Record Rangers kit sales were matched with innovative and creative designs which have largely been lauded by supporters.

But issues with kit quality, delivery and customer service continue to plague the retailer who have admitted they bit off more than they could chew with the Ibrox side.
