Rangers announced the signing of Sam Lammers and with it, another player who praised the influence of Michael Beale in their decision making.
If there is anything that we know without doubt about the Gers gaffer, it’s that he is a football obsessive and this is evident every time he speaks about the game.
Rangers, without a sporting director, have put their trust in Michael Beale to get the job done and, as new £3.5m signing Sam Lammers confirms, he is clearly doing it well.

A club like Rangers shouldn’t need to persuade players to sign for us, however, times change and we are competing with teams all across the continent and no longer the big spenders we once were.
Rangers move decision made easy as Sam Lammers praises Beale
The personal approach seems to be paying dividends though and, speaking to Rangers TV, the new number 14 revealed just how much Beale’s intervention mattered:
“I came in contact with the manager and he came over to see me in Italy, we had a good talk and he gave me a presentation about the club and about how I could fit in so ever since that moment I was excited for this project and to get here.
“I already knew some things about Rangers, I know the history, I know it is a massive club in Scotland and also worldwide but it is always a good thing to have the personal side of it.”

In elite sport, that 1-2% extra can make all the difference and so far, every new signing under Beale has mentioned his input in their decision making.
With Rangers sealing the deal for Sam Lammers, the manager can now turn his Midas touch onto Cyriel Dessers and Jose Cifuentes – if he hasn’t already that is.
