Andrew Cavenagh’s consortium and the 49ers Enterprises are continuing to enter licensing agreements at Rangers.

While things have not gone as planned on the field, the owners are doing their utmost off the pitch to ensure that the balance sheet makes for good reading.

Rangers are also backing Danny Rohl going into the new season despite three losses in a row in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers enter licensing agreement with Hy-Pro International

Rangers News has learned that the Light Blues have reached a licensing agreement with UK-based manufacturer Hy-Pro International.

They will be providing the club with an exclusive product range and will cater to the fanbase.

Sources have told Rangers News that this deal is understood to generate low-to-mid six figures in royalties.

This deal will also provide retailers with the unique opportunity to connect with the club’s global audience through licensed products.

Thus far, the products have not been unveiled, but are expected to be available in the coming weeks ahead of the pre-season campaign.

The economics behind such licensing agreements for Rangers

Sports licensing royalties usually run 8-15 per cent of the net sales, which could be higher for some categories, but also lower for high-volume/low-margin items.

Rangers could look to get minimum guarantees as well as performance bonuses, which will be added to the club’s coffers.

As the Ibrox outfit are not the only club to have agreed a deal with Hy-Pro, they will not expect the marketing to solely be focused on them.

The club’s commercial team has been pushing for such deals in the last 12 months, so fans can expect more agreements in due course.

The Gers have official supporters’ clubs in over 50 countries, and that is something Hy-Pro is looking to tap into.

They have offices and distribution networks in the United States and Hong Kong, along with warehouses in the United Kingdom.

This ensures that the Rangers products can reach those markets effectively without the need to build new infrastructure.

Hopefully, for all parties, this could be the start of a fruitful and long-term relationship that is a revenue generator.
