Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic could be hit by more Covid-19 issues

Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic have been hit with even more Covid-19 issues just days into the latest international break.

The Parkhead club was rocked by a range of Covid-19 related call-offs in the last international break before they would go on a run of two wins in seven games.

Now, four of their players have been impacted by Covid-19 enforced call-offs with two potentially needing to self-isolate as a result.

According to the Glasgow Times, Nir Biton and Hatem abd Elhamed could be forced into isolation after Israel’s match with Norway was called off due to a positive Covid-19 test.

Norwegian pair Kristoffer Ajer and Mohammed Elyounoussi were also directly affected, with the duo in the Norway squad for the match.

Rangers have had one Covid-19 scare of their own after Ibrox full-back Borna Barisic’s Croatia team were rocked by a positive to their captain Domagoj Vida.

Vida had just played 45 minutes of the nations’ eventual 3-3 draw with Turkey in Istanbul before he was isolated from the rest of the team.

Rangers star Barisic was on the bench for the game and as it stands won’t have to self-isolate but there are nerves about a potential outbreak in the Croatian camp.

So far Rangers have done superbly well to avoid Covid-19 positives within their camp this season but can the Ibrox side keep it going for the remainder of the campaign?
