Dusting themselves off after a stumbling Livingston defeat was never going to be easy for Rangers. It was a bitterly disappointing showing and showed a few cracks in the Gerrard masterplan. But going into a huge Ibrox double header, we need to paper over them quickly.
If we’d won on Sunday, there’d be no issue. Ranger would still be high flying. We’d still be coming. There would still be whispers of 55. Instead the Gerrard bubble feels somewhat deflated.
Sunday felt strangely significant, but the team must learn from it quickly.
No time to ponder on result
It’s true, Rangers have been terrible on the road at home. There seems to be a complacency that the team haven’t seen at Ibrox.
But we’re still in the early stages of Gerrard’s tenure. There was always going to be bumps in the road.

The team must not only learn from this defeat quickly, but the have to get over it quickly too. With a huge double header against Rapid Vienna and Hearts coming for the club, there’s no time to ponder on the result.
There’s a long way to go domestically
For some reason the Livi defeat felt like a real sting. It stopped us in our tracks almost.
But there’s such a long way to go domestically that Rangers still have time to salvage things in the league.
Are we strong enough to go on and win domestically? That remains to be seen. But we need to get over our struggles on the road. If Rangers can’t turn their away form around the answer will most certainly be no.

But in the meantime, both supporters and the players must shift their focus to what is a huge week for the club.
Come Thursday and Sunday, there can be no mention or thought of the slip up against Livingston.
Against Rapid, Rangers have a real chance.
