It’s time for Rangers to put a lid on the comments coming out of the club, with Celtic winger Liel Abada confirming the Parkhead side are focusing on silencing the Gers on the pitch.
There’s been a lot of hot air coming out of the Ibrox side in recent weeks but the Gers remain nine points behind in the title race and have just been beaten in the League Cup Final.
As things stand Celtic are on for another unthinkable treble and Rangers are the only team primed to stop them as the season enters its final furlong.
Rangers manager Michael Beale’s “lucky” comments have been used as inspiration by Ange Postecoglou, whilst Ibrox attacker Fashion Sakala was left red-faced after Sunday’s defeat.
Claiming that Rangers were the better team, the Ibrox star was probably saying what he though the club’s fans wanted to hear but all he did was set himself up for a fail.
Liel Abada insists Celtic will do talking on pitch
Now, Liel Abada has indirectly warned Rangers as he hints that the Celtic squad are using the recent comments coming out of Ibrox as inspiration to land more trophies.
“We don’t worry about what anyone else says, we focus on our football and trying to win,” said Liel Abada.
“Is the target a Treble? We want to win every trophy but we have to work hard every day.”
It’s an attitude lesson the Rangers management and squad must learn as they look to haul back the gap between themselves and our Old Firm rivals.
Talking a good game is one thing, but it will be proven as nothing but hot air if you cannot go out and prove it on the pitch.
Against Celtic at Hampden, Rangers were clearly second best and if we’re to turn things around at the club then it needs to start with the right focus and attitude returning on the pitch.
