Rangers have once again been mentioned alongside Wigan star Kyle Joseph in a report which claims Premier League Newcastle United are set to hijack a Celtic move for the teenage striker.
Rangers are one of a number of clubs linked to 19-year-old Joseph, with the Gers named alongside the likes of Spurs, Leicester, Arsenal, and Celtic [the Sun, Mirror].

However, it appeared Joseph was set to opt for a move to Celtic over any of these clubs when the Daily Mail reported the Parkhead side were winning the race for the forward [Scottish Daily Mail print edition, 05/03/21 p.86].
However, the Daily Mail is now claiming that Premier League Newcastle United have snatched in in front of our Old Firm rivals with Rangers and Arsenal also attributed with interest.
According to that report, Newcastle United are leading the charge for the forward and are willing to pay £850k for his services.
Joseph impressed for League One side Wigan earlier in the season, netting five goals in 16 games for the club before suffering a back injury which has hampered his development.
As it stands Wigan – who’ve suffered an extraordinary fall from Premier League grace in recent years – are in the midst of a relegation battle in England’s third tier.

Joseph is one of a number of players being linked to Ibrox ahead of the summer transfer window.
Only this week the club has been linked with a move for £2m-rated League One rival of Joseph’s amid links to a host of Championship clubs.
