Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly on a managerial shortlist at Premier League side Crystal Palace – despite his ongoing insistence he is happy at Ibrox.
The Gers gaffer made it clear to a variety of media outlets that Ibrox is home for now, even telling BT Sport that Rangers fans have nothing to worry about in the “short-term”.

Despite this, Gerrard has been mentioned alongside the Selhurst Park job – and that’s despite the Rangers boss’ former England gaffer Roy Hodgson still being in a job in south London.
GO Radio Football Show [15/03/21] host Paul Cooney claims that Gerrard is on a shortlist to replace Hodgson this summer – a notion which was laughed off by Gers legend Barry Ferguson.
According to Fergie, there is “no comparison” between Rangers and the Premier League outfit with the Gers being a “far bigger club”.
The Amazon Prime Sport Twitter account – who’re developing quite the affinity with Rangers content on their channel – would then Tweet out the links.
This drew the ire of plenty of Crystal Palace fans but this nonsense regarding Gerrard and a move to the Premier League is growing more tiresome by the day.
The Ibrox gaffer is clear that he needs to be at a club with high expectations and conversations over swapping Champions League football for Crystal Palace are nothing more than fantasy.
Rangers boss Gerrard has also made it clear he has no intention of taking over at Liverpool in the short term as pressure mounts on Jurgen Klopp.
But despite this, coverage persists regarding Gerrard’s apparently inevitable rise to become manager of Liverpool Football Club.
