Antonio Colak has been spotted in Parma as the Rangers striker closes in on his £2.5 million move away from the Scottish Premiership giants.

Well, Tuttomercatoweb were right, then.

The Italian publication reported on Friday morning that Antonio Colak was due to touch down in Emilia Romagna later in the day. So the sight of Rangers’ number nine acknowledging the photographers excitedly awaiting his arrival, via reporter Gugliemo Trupo on Twitter, should have come as no surprise to anyone following the story closely,

Colak, Tuttomercatoweb added, was then due to undergo medical tests before signing a three-year deal reportedly worth £12,000-a-week after tax.

Only time will tell whether TMW were on the money there too. But Rangers appear to have no qualms about letting the well-travelled goal-poacher depart after just one largely successful season in Glasgow; Colak finishing 2022/23 as the club’s joint top-scorer alongside the spot-kick king that is James Tavernier.

Colak, according to the Daily Record, should add around £2.5 million to Rangers’ coffers.

Mick Beale still wants a left-sided centre-half. Jonathan Panzo of Nottingham Forest is the priority. Jose Cifuntes is yet to complete his arrival either from Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles FC.

Whether Beale will look to bring in another number nine to act as a direct replacement for Colak, meanwhile, remains to be seen.

Feyenoord’s Danilo continues to be linked. And keep an eye on BK Hacken forward Benie Traore; scorer of 15 goals in 20 games this season, and 12 in 14 in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

After Rangers had a £2.8 million bid rejected, via The Sun, Sheffield United agreed a £4 million with Hacken. There is still time for Rangers to match that offer, however. Traore will be absent for Saturday’s clash with IF Brommapojkarna due to ongoing talks surrounding his departure.
