Rangers striker target Benie Traore will be left out of BK Hacken’s Allsvenskan fixture this weekend but Premier League newcomers Sheffield United are currently in pole position.
If reports in Italy were correct, Antonio Colak would have touched down at around lunchtime today before undergoing a medical at Parma. Rangers’ joint-top scorer from 2022/23 will supposedly join the Serie B outfit on a three-year deal, for a fee of around £2.5 million.
As such, Cyriel Dessers will soon be the only centre-forward at Mick Beale’s disposal. And while Abdallah Sima and Sam Lammers can play through the middle, this is a gap in the Rangers squad. One Mick Beale may look to fill with another outside hire during the final six weeks of the window.

That reports linking Feyenoord frontman Danilo with a move to Ibrox are still present and correct certainly suggests that Rangers remain in the market for a number nine.
Rangers also made a bid of £2.8 million for Benie Traore, albeit before Dessers put pen to paper (The Sun). One of the hottest marksman in Scandinavia at the moment; Traore appears to have played his final game for BK Hacken.
The club’s sporting director confirms that he will be absent for Saturday’s home clash with IF Brommapojkarna
“We are in concrete negotiations about a sale,” Martin Ericsson tells Goteborgs Posten when asked about Traore’s unavailability.
Rangers still have a chance at Benie Traore
Ericsson, however, would not be drawn on which club Traore was joining.
Aftonbladet believe that Premier League newcomers Sheffield United have agreed a fee of £4 million with Hacken, but Rangers could still match The Blades’ offer with £2.5 million arriving in Beale’s coffers from Colak’s sale.
“Sheffield United? They are good and a great club. But I can’t confirm anything because nothing is concrete,” Traore said this week.
“I think you will find out about what happens, when it happens.”
Traore has 15 goals in 20 games this season, including 12 in 14 Allsvenskan fixtures.
