Rangers had secured the services of former Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers defender Stig Inge Bjornebye as football consultant and advisor.
The 56-year-old was brought in on a short-term basis back in December to help the Light Blues behind the scenes.
Prior to that, he served a four-year spell at Danish club AGF Aarhus as their sports director.

Stig Inge Bjornebye set for Rangers stay beyond this summer
According to Sky Sports, the Gers have made a decision to retain Bjornebye’s services beyond the end of the season and the summer transfer window as well.
He is expected to be at Ibrox for the majority of 2026 and a decision is then expected to be taken on his future.
The former Norway international enjoyed a successful playing career, winning two league titles at Rosenborg.
He also achieved some success at Anfield, winning the League Cup with Liverpool in the 1994/95 campaign.
In the 1996/97 season, he was among the standout players in the Premier League as he made the PFA Team of the Year.
After his retirement, he turned to coaching briefly, but has since held directorial positions at different clubs.

How Bjornebye has helped Danny Rohl and Rangers
Bjornebye joined ahead of the January transfer window, which was Danny Rohl’s first window in charge of the Ibrox outfit.
The Norwegian helped the Gers boss identify the right targets, who would potentially be long-term fits, and it was a successful window overall.
He was brought on a six-month contract to offer executive stability in the short term, following the departures of Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart.

Having succeeded at that role, he has been given an extension to continue doing more of the same at Ibrox.
Bjornebye has been reporting directly to Andrew Cavenagh, who is playing an extremely hands-on role as the Chairman.
He has offered the American fresh perspectives on how to run the club, something that has reflected well on him.
There is a high possibility that the Rangers owners decided against a new sporting director because of the impact the 55-year-old has had behind the scenes in the last few months.
