Rangers loanee Brandon Barker was on the scoresheet as adopted English League One side Oxford United romped to an impressive 6-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra in the English third tier.
Barker, 24, has been on loan at the Kassam Stadium since January and has enjoyed a productive spell in southern England after struggling to break into the Rangers first-team.
A pacey winger and former Man City youth, there have been high hopes for Barker throughout his career but the ex-Hibs loanee has struggled to reach the necessary level on a consistent enough basis to back up the hype.
Scoring the fourth goal in the impressive six-goal rout, Barker joined adopted teammates Josh Ruffels, James Henry, Elliot Moore, Cameron Brannagan and Sam Winnall on the scoresheet.
The result leaves the U’s 9th in League One with the club retaining an outside chance of reaching the playoff places in the English third tier, four points off Lincoln City in sixth.
Across the division, another Rangers loanee’s automatic promotion push was severely damaged over the weekend as Sunderland and Jordan Jones lost 2-1 at home to Charlton.
Jones, 26, came off the bench to no avail at the Stadium of Light as Lee Johnson’s side dropped yet more points in the hunt for automatic promotion.

The result leaves Sunderland in 3rd place, four points off Peterborough in second with a game in hand, the Posh winning 3-0 away to Swindon.
That match also had a little bit of relevance to Rangers as a £5m powerhouse forward who was loosely linked to the club scored the final goal in the emphatic rout.
