Partick Thistle has a good relationship with Rangers, as Lewis Mayo and Jake Hastie have joined the club on loan this season with a varying degree of success.

Mayo has been outstanding in the Firhill side’s impressive run of form which has seen them acclimatise well as they returned to the Championship. Hastie has only featured six times for the Jags as he has struggled to impress.

Zak Rudden also joined Partick on a permanent deal last season as the striker came through the academy at the Ibrox side.

Maxwell, who mainly operates at left-back but can also play in midfield, has featured for Ayr in 16 matches in the Championship this season, scoring once and providing two assists [SofaScore].

The 20-year-old looks set to have a positive future in the game if he continues to impress, although unfortunately, it looks like it won’t be at Rangers.

The club is awash with young talent at the moment, names such as Leon King, Stephen Kelly, and Tony Weston are all constantly improving and Giovanni van Bronchhorst has already given King and Kelly vital matchday experience as they appeared on the bench for the European tie against Sparta Prague.

In other news, a reported Rangers target bagged an assist in an impressive win for his team.
