Reported Rangers target Andreas Skov Olsen bagged an assist as Bologna comfortably defeated Sassuolo in Serie A.

Rangers have been credited with interest in Olsen in the past and last week, il Resto del Carlino reported that the Ibrox side had made an ‘enquiry’ about him ahead of the January transfer window.

Yet, there’s set to be a lot of competition for the Denmark international, with a subsequent report from Corriere di Bologna asserting that Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin are in pole position to land him.

Plenty of Rangers fans are desperate to see him at Ibrox, though, and are hoping that all the stops are pulled out over the coming weeks to land him.

One of the reasons Olsen is thought to be available is because he hasn’t been a regular starter at Bologna this season.

However, he started and played 72 minutes of their impressive 3-0 win at fellow mid-table side Sassuolo on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old set up the second goal to register just his second assist of the season.

He was given the ball from a short corner and began to drive towards the left side of the box before pulling the ball back to ex-Hearts starlet Aaron Hickey, who steered an excellent right-footed finish into the top right corner from the edge of the area.

Olsen lost possession 14 times and his pass accuracy during the game was only 70% but on top of his assist, he made five tackles, a clearance and won the majority of his ground duels [SofaScore].

With 7.4 he received the second-highest WhoScored rating for an outfield player in the match, with Hickey’s 8.5 making him a clear Man of the Match.

Meanwhile, a Premier League club have provided clarity on the future of an exciting Rangers-linked player.
