A “delighted” Rangers loanee Jordan Jones earned the acclaim of Sunderland fans as he made his debut for the Black Cats in their 3-0 Football League trophy win over MK Dons.
Jones played 60 minutes for Sunderland as they defeated their League One rivals on enemy territory to earn a place in the competition’s semi-finals.

A Dean Lewington own goal had Sunderland in front in the 12th minute before strikes from ex-Celtic winger Aidan McGeady and striker Charlie Wyke secured the victory.
But it was Jordan Jones’ involvement which most caught the eye of the passionate Stadium of Light fans.
The winger has joined Sunderland on loan until the end of the season as he looks to resurrect his career following a difficult few months at Ibrox.
The Northern Irish international will be glad to have gotten an hour under his belt, his first minutes on the pitch since coming off the bench for Rangers in the 2-0 win over Livingston in October.
Jones, 26, took to Twitter after the game to express his delight at making his debut for Sunderland and plenty of the club’s fans would applaud his performance.
The reaction of the Sunderland support has been particularly positive and the early indications are this move could really help Jones find his form:

Jones left Ibrox towards the end of the January window with Brandon Barker (Oxford United) and George Edmundson (Derby County) also leaving on loan spells.
There was also one pre-contract Rangers signing who made his debut in England this week despite never kicking a ball for the Gers.
