Rangers linked with five major transfer deals as summer comes early

Rangers are being linked to a host of top talents as the club’s summer recruitment drive heats up before the final whistle goes on season 20/21.

Gers boss Gerrard and sporting director Ross Wilson have repeatedly reiterated that recruitment never stops at Ibrox and going by the latest links to the club that’s very much true.

The most prominent and reportedly most imminent move of the five players who’ve been linked in the last week is KV Oostende striker Fashion Sakala.

Sakala – who at 24 is at an interesting juncture of his career – has already starting following key Rangers players on social media as the interest reportedly heats up.

Another striker being linked to Ibrox on a pre-contract deal is frozen-out Middlesbrough captain Britt Assombalonga [TEAMtalk].

The 28-year-old is an explosive forward and an almighty pain in the behind when he’s on his game and even cost the Riverside club £15m only four seasons ago.

Rangers were then linked for a move to exciting Dutch U21 prospect Danilho Doekhi with Football Insider reportedly claiming a £1.5m had been eyed.

With Newcastle United and Fulham also said to be interested, interest in the defender has been repeated in Holland and by leading broadsheet journalist Mike McGrath.

Rangers were also linked to BSC Young Boys’ Cameroonian international winger Moumi Ngamaleu with the right-sided player also said to be interesting Premier League sides [TEAMtalk].

To round off this week of reports, Rangers were also linked to Dutch midfielder Joey Veerman in a third reported raid on Holland or Belgium [Voetbal International].
