Rangers’ summer transfer business is already beginning to heat up if a spate of contract renewals and transfer links are anything to go by.
The Ibrox club has prided itself in recent seasons of being ahead of the curve come the summer windows and there’s no doubt the club has improved season on season under Steven Gerrard.

A Scottish Cup exit to St Johnstone has perhaps highlighted many of the deficiencies in the squad with the Gers not quite the finished article quite yet.
But looking ahead to the new campaign no fewer than four players have committed their future to the club with another three Ibrox stars said to be in discussions with Rangers.
Another four players have been linked with an Ibrox move from elsewhere this week alone.
Ibrox veterans Steven Davis and Allan McGregor have signed up for another year, whilst Leon Balogun has initiated a year extension clause to help bolster the defence.
Rangers captain James Tavernier is another star who’s signed up to the Ibrox side – only Tav’s deal runs to 2024 – with vice-captain Connor Goldson reportedly set to follow suit [Daily Record].
As for other players there’s been some talk about Glen Kamara committing himself to the club for the last period whilst the 4th Official claims the Gers are in talks regarding Alfredo Morelos’ current deal.
That would see Rangers sign up seven first-teamers before a ball is kicked next season but the club is not resting there if the latest reports are to be believed.
The Gers are reportedly closing in on a pre-contract move for KV Oostende striker Fashion Sakala [Daily Record] whilst another report is claiming one-time £15m Middlesbrough captain Britt Assombalonga could also be about to sign a pre-contract deal [TEAMtalk].

Vitesse Arnhem centre-back Danhilo Doekhi has also been linked in the Dutch press [De Geldenlander] with the Gers said to be considering a three-year deal for the 22-year-old Dutchman.
According to Football Insider, the player is also wanted by Newcastle United and Fulham whilst he is believed to command a modest £1.5m transfer fee.
The other player being linked to Rangers is BSC Young Boys’ Cameroonian winger Moumi Ngamaleu, who played at Ibrox last season and is also reportedly being tailed by a host of Premier League clubs [TEAMtalk].
That means in total Rangers are reportedly eyeing a quite remarkable eleven new Ibrox deals ahead of the summer campaign.

For plenty of fans, they will however be asking why there’s a distinct lack of action surrounding new midfielders coming into the club.
The club’s lack of strength in depth in the middle of the park has been exposed recently and the Gers are in a tight spot ahead of the club’s visit of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this weekend.
