Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has pulled out of the Scotland squad with injury as Ibrox-linked Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson is tipped to replace him.
Gers star Jacko, 31, has missed the last two matches for Rangers as the injuries mount at the club and he has now pulled out of the Scotland double header against Spain and France.
The fact Ryan Jack had made the Scotland squad despite the Rangers injury had raised eyebrows in Ibrox circles with the midfielder yet again struggling to leave an impression this season.
Speaking ahead of the European Championship trip to face Spain – with Scotland winning the reverse 2-0 – Tartan Army assistant pointed to Ibrox-linked Lewis Ferguson as a solution to the Ryan Jack injury problem.
It comes with Carver confirming that Scotland will not call anyone up to replace the Rangers midfielder.
“No, I think we’re just going to leave it as it is,” said Steve Clarke’s assistant John Carver.
“Steve picked the squad and we had an idea that Ryan had an issue and we were quite comfortable with what we had. There’s guys waiting in the wings to come in and I’ll touch on Lewis Ferguson in particular because of how well he’s done in Italy in Bologna.
“He had a good season last year, you can see him developing physically, mentally. I think he captained the side the other night, which is a magnificent achievement for him.
“There’s people there waiting to come in. You’ve got other lads – Kenny McLean, who’s been excellent for us so we’ve got enough cover in that position to deal with the two games.”

Injury rules Ryan Jack out of Scotland squad
As Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack pulls out of the Scotland squad with injury, the country has been confirmed as a co-host of Euro 2028.
UEFA have confirmed that the UK and Ireland will host the tournament in five years time in a major boost to football across the five countries involved.
The UK and Ireland bid had run unopposed after Turkey pulled out of the running with Hampden stadium set to host matches at the tournament.

However, there will only be two spots reserved for any of the five nations who don’t qualify through the usual European Championship qualifying route meaning no country is guaranteed a spot at the tournament.
