Rangers-linked Angus Gunn followed up a successful first weekend as Scotland keeper with a disappointing return to Norwich.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Rangers ahead of the summer with the keeper position the subject of much debate.

And Angus Gunn increased his pedigree this week when he became a fully fledged international with Scotland.

A former England U21 keeper, Gunn started between the sticks for the Tartan Army in the wins against both Cyprus and Spain.

But after the highs of beating the Spanish at Hampden, Rangers-linked Angus Gunn was brought right back Earth as Norwich suffered defeat in the Championship.

Losing 1-0 to Sheffield United at Carrow Road – the goal scored by another familiar name in James Mcatee – the result puts a dent in the club’s promotion hopes.

The result leaves them 7th in a tight English second flight, four points off Blackburn in the playoff places having played a game more.

One eye on Rangers-linked Angus Gunn

Rangers fans will be keeping a close eye on the situation with Norwich heading into the summer given those links to Angus Gunn.

Reports have suggested that it could take £3m to sign the goalkeeper, but that could change should the club earn promotion.

The Scotland international keeper might also be inclined to stick around if the Premier League beckons for Norwich and they could upset any summer plans.

The Rangers goalkeeping position continues to come under scrutiny with big changes expected in the summer.

Club legend Allan McGregor reached the milestone of his 500th Rangers game at the weekend but there remain major doubts about his future at Ibrox.

Even if the latest Michael Beale soundbites hinted at a new deal for the veteran stopper.

Rangers fans also remain unconvinced about Jon McLaughlin as number one whilst Robby McCrorie is one of several players shot down by injury this season.
