Rangers legends Mark Hateley and Derek Johnstone took time out of their day to contact some of the club’s supporters during this time of crisis.

The two former Ibrox strikers might’ve turned out for the club in different eras but they came together to call around on some of the club’s oldest supporters to help boost morale.

In a video unveiled on the Ibrox side’s social media channels, Hateley and Johnstone are filmed doing the rounds on the club’s supporters.

It’s a nice touch from the former Rangers pair and clearly means a lot to those they’re getting in touch with.

Amongst those contacted includes a 92-year-old man on his birthday and a 102-year-old who still attends Ibrox Stadium.

The former Rangers stars also took the time to reassure fans that when football returns, they will be the first people the club contacts.

The fact the two icons phoned up to check-in was also incredibly overwhelming for one supporter, who claimed it gave him a boost whilst he felt under the weather.

“Thanks for your phone call,” said the fan. “It’s bucked me up because I’m not too well.”

The video ends on the duo phoning up a fan on their birthday to give them an incredibly unique rendition of happy birthday.

It’s not the first bit of charity work being conducted by Mark Hateley this week either.
