Rangers legend Brian Laudrup wants the future of Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos sorted sooner rather than later as he claimed enough is enough concerning transfer talk around the striker.
Morelos was reportedly subject of a £16m+ bid from Ligue 1 Lille [Daily Mail] earlier in the window with the French side keeping the option of returning for the Colombian open.
Rangers are said to value Morelos at closer to £20m and have been stubborn as the likes of Serie A Fiorentina also swarm around the player [Foot Mercato].
The former HJK Helsinki striker was said to have had his “head turned” by the interest and as a result he was dropped from the squad for the win over Kilmarnock.
Morelos returned to the bench for the victory over Hamilton but never appeared for Rangers again until the win over Dundee United at the weekend.
Despite being stretchered off following a horror challenge by Dundee United’s Ryan Edwards, Morelos travelled with the squad for the Europa League tie against Lincoln Red Imps.
Whilst the striker is in contention to play in Gibraltar, Brian Laudrup wants the player’s future resolved after Morelos met with his agent Michael Gorman during the week.
“Alfredo Morelos’ agent is in Glasgow this week,” said Laudrup [Daily Record].
“That situation has been ongoing for weeks, so his arrival must be for some kind of crunch talks.
“Morelos has been on the bench recently because he was not performing in training and not looking like he was interested.
“I said recently that I thought his time at the club was up. It’s one of those situations that can take weeks to be resolved and transfer deadline day is still some time away. But now it’s enough.
“For everyone involved, the best thing is to decide whether Morelos is staying or going and get it sorted as soon as possible.”
Rangers fans have also been sending their congratulations to Laudrup as the winger announced he has been given the all-clear from cancer after a 10-year battle.
