Legendary former Rangers manager Ally McCoist has gone viral for an impromptu food tour taking his Instagram followers around London’s Borough Market.

The iconic former Gers striker and manager – who is the club’s all-time top goalscorer (355) – filmed himself on the social media platform walking around the trendy food market.

This was before the English League Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool at Wembley, which the Reds would go on to win on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

Videoing everything from fresh fruits and meats to live lobsters and seafood paella, it’s had plenty crossing their fingers in the hope of Ally McCoist one day having his own food show.

In true Ally style, the former Rangers striker carries the video and has viewers wishing they were there to enjoy the fruits of Borough Market alongside him.

Now working prolifically in the sports media, McCoist is a regular on Sky Sports, ITV and TalkSPORT Radio where he works closely with Alan Brazil and Laura Woods.

The ex-Rangers striker’s coverage as a co-commentator has grabbed the attentions of millions and Ally McCoist is one of the most popular pundits around.

Taking a walk around Borough Market, the legendary striker has only further endeared himself to his followers online and a food show involving Super Ally and Jon Champion doesn’t sound half bad.

Speaking of Laura Woods, the popular presenter and proud Arsenal fan has a strong rapport with Ally McCoist and the pair were snapped out in Newcastle together.

It’s great to see Ally McCoist get so much love and for Rangers fans he will eternally be one of the club’s biggest heroes and greatest ambassadors.

A Rangers legend who won 20 trophies with the club, playing 581 times and scoring 355 goals, McCoist also spent three years as Walter Smith’s assistant at Ibrox before taking over himself.

The manager during the tumultuous years of 2011 to 2014, Ally McCoist has given so much to Rangers and for us, even if the attention he’s now getting dwindles, he’ll always be Super.

Ally McCoist also had a special relationship with Rangers legend Walter Smith, who was recognised by the club on his 74th birthday this week.
