Rangers legend Ally McCoist has touted former teammate Duncan Ferguson for the vacant manager’s role at Premier League side Everton, who recently sacked Rafa Benitez following a poor run of form.
Ferguson played for the Ibrox side between 1993 and 1994 and featured alongside McCoist, although the striker never properly settled at Rangers and moved on to Everton on loan, which eventually turned into a permanent move to the Goodison side.

With the news of Rafa’s sacking, McCoist was quick to suggest Ferguson for the role.
“I think they look for Big Dunc, yes. That’s exactly where they look,” McCoist said whilst speaking on Talksport.
“That man has done it before, there is absolutely nobody who knows the club better. I think he has a relationship with supporters that every manager in the country would die for to tell you the truth.
“That will cut him a bit of slack but once he gets in there it’ll be just the same as any other manager, it’s results how you’re judged.
“I just think it’s a no-brainer.”
Will Duncan Ferguson get the Everton job?
Ferguson is a club icon at Everton and has taken charge of the side before, when Marco Silva was sacked by the Toffees in December 2019.
The former striker was in temporary charge for four matches and remained unbeaten before Carlo Ancelotti was named manager.
He certainly knows the club and the supporters love him, he may not be a long-term solution for the Premier League side, but surely a role until the end of the season would suit both parties?

Coisty certainly thinks he is up to the job, if that isn’t a glowing endorsement then i don’t know what is.
