This season, amidst all the goals from Zak Rudden, Ryan Hardie and Greg Docherty, one Rangers loanee in particular, has slipped under the radar.
Lee Hodson.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international moved to the Gers from MK Dons in 2016.
Since then, he has managed just 17 appearances, scoring a solitary goal in a 2-1 victory over Aberdeen in December that year.
Although he has struggled to make an impact at Ibrox, he does have 24 international caps as a full-back.
Yet, that’s not exclusively where he has been deployed during his loan spell this season.
New midfield role for loanee

St Mirren boss, Oran Kearney, has moved Hodson further forward for many of his 18 appearances so far.
Initially, to right wing-back or right midfield, which wasn’t completely new territory.
However, on several occasions leading up to the winter break, Hodson took up a central midfield berth.
He may not be the most creative, or technical player. That much is evidenced by his failure to score or register a league assist, despite his comparatively advanced roles.

Yet, he might just be carving out a niche for himself in the middle of the park, at one of the SPL’s smaller clubs.
While there was plenty of talk of recalling in form loanee strikers in January, Hodson never got a mention.
It appears he has little to no future as a Rangers player, but it will be interesting to see if St Mirren continue this midfield experiment during 2019.
If Hodson continues to impress, he could land himself a new main position and a permanent deal with the Saints.
