One of football’s nice guys, Jermain Defoe’s relationship with little Bradley Lowery captured the hearts of the UK.
Whilst he was at Sunderland, Defoe befriended the terminally ill youngster. Defoe made Bradley feel part of the club and the entire country felt it when the wee man eventually passed away in July 2017.
Bradley left a huge impression on football fans around the country, and of course Jermain Defoe. On what would’ve been Bradley’s eighth birthday, Jermain sent a special message on Twitter.
Bradley and Jermain’s touching relationship helped make a dying child’s final moment incredibly special. The legendary Premier League striker deserves every credit for what he did for Bradley and his family.
It’s just another example of how charitable Jermain Defoe is. The Rangers striker has an OBE for his contribution to sports and charity. The Jermain Defoe Foundation supports vulnerable, homeless and abused children in his family’s native St. Lucia, the Caribbean and the UK.
When he collected the award, he even dedicated it to Bradley Lowery.
Jermain Defoe is not just a top footballer, but he is a top person too. It’s an amazing thing that he did for the youngster.

But what would Bradley have thought about Jermain signing for Rangers? Well according to his mum Gemma,
Bradley’s family support Rangers as well as Sunderland.
