Rangers insider Mark Dingwall of the Follow Follow forum and fanzine has claimed that there are a total of five players involved in the alleged Covid-19 breach at the club.

The fan media representative has also claimed that all five of the players involved have tested negative for Covid-19.

Taking to the Follow Follow forum, Dingwall titled a thread ‘“The Five” have all tested negative for COVID before captaining the post with the term “Ronseal”.

The news comes after reports had earlier suggested that at least four Rangers players were at a party in Glasgow’s west end which was broken up by police at the weekend.

Both Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey were named in reports – even if there has been no confirmation – with 10 fixed penalty notices issued for Covid-19 breaches [Athletic].

Rangers released a statement claiming they were launching an “investigation” into the incident but were clear there would be “no further comment” on the matter.

This was reiterated by talkSPORT host Jim White who claimed the Gers were trying to “shut down” the story, suggesting the club want to keep it in house.

The club’s fans were understandably upset when this news broke but as it stands, we still don’t know what’s actually gone on.

All the news suggests there’s something more to this tale with the SFA yet to get involved and Rangers failing to confirm details regarding the situation.
