Rangers injury update on two key players but silence on crocked star deafening

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has provided an injury update on the club’s squad – with the silence on crocked hitman Kemar Roofe deafening.

The Belgian boss was speaking ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash with Ross County and addressed injury problems with Leon Balogun and Ryan Jack.

But Clement also failed to mentioned crocked striker Kemar Roofe who remains a long-term injury problem at Ibrox.

As things stand there is no set date for the player’s return with the striker certainly much closer to the Rangers first team than Brazilian Danilo.

Philippe Clement on Leon Balogun & Ryan Jack

Philippe Clement was talking after Leon Balogun went off injured in the Scottish Premiership win over Livingston last weekend.

Hinting at a return to training in a social media video this week, Philippe Clement confirmed the defender is back in training following a facial injury although he is wearing a mask.

Still a doubt for the visit of Ross County, Ryan Jack also won’t be involved in the match as the club carefully work the midfielder back to full fitness.

“Leon trained with a mask,” said Clement. “We still need to make some adjustments with the mask.

“That’s always normal, I have some experience with that getting some knocks. So yeah we will see tomorrow how he is, if he can be in the squad or not.

“Ryan Jack will not be in the squad because he is still in a kind of individual programme to rebuild him.”

Kemar Roofe Rangers injury woes continue

Whilst the news around Leon Balogun and Ryan Jack is somewhat positive, the injury silence around Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is deafening.

With Ben Davies returning to the squad v Ayr United, attacking trio Abdallah Sima, Kemar Roofe and Danilo are the only ongoing injury absences.

With Sima and Danilo long-term issues, there is some confusion around the situation with Kemar Roofe at Rangers.

Out of contract in the summer, only a week ago Philippe Clement was suggesting that Roofe is still set to play a part in the squad this season.

But whilst there’s no timescale on the striker’s return, and the Jamaican international is excluded from injury updates, the silence suggests Roofe is still some way away from doing so.
