Rangers can be buoyed ahead of their Europa League clash against Borussia Dortmund, as former Germany captain and World Cup winner Lothar Matthäus has criticised Dortmund for lacking consistency.
The side hasn’t been in the best of form recently, having lost two of their last three matches. They were knocked out of the German Cup by Bundesliga 2 side St Pauli and then were thrashed 5-2 by Bayer Leverkusen as their title ambitions begin to fade.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, the former Bayern Munich player didn’t hold back when describing the Gers Euro opponents and their recent form.
“This team simply lacks consistency, mentality, and class,” said Matthäus [SkySports].
“Dortmund have had some coaches in recent years, but in the end, it is not enough for the championship title this season either.
“The team of Marco Rose and all other so-called Bayern pursuers lacks the certain something to win the title.”
These comments will surely give Rangers a boost ahead of next week’s tie, and Dortmund is certainly unpredictable.
Rangers are in good form ahead of the tie against Borussia Dortmund
The Ibrox side finds themselves in good form heading into the crucial Europa League tie. The side has rebounded following the Old Firm defeat to rivals Celtic, scoring seven goals and conceding none in their following two matches.
An away tie against Annan Athletic follows this weekend in the Scottish Cup and this should be a comfortable win which gives Giovanni van Bronckhorst a chance to rest some key players ahead of the trip to Germany.

Hopefully, Dortmund’s Jekyll and Hyde form continues, and the Gers can go to Germany with some ambition of getting a positive result.
