Rangers reportedly have a “strong interest” in signing Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe as Steven Gerrard looks to build his squad for next season.
The 21-year-old centre back is currently on-loan at Aston Villa in the English Championship. He is due to return to Man United in the summer and is contracted at Old Trafford until 2020.
Club insider Four Lads Had a Dream has claimed Rangers have a “strong” interest in signing the player.

Axel Tuanzebe is a physical centre back who has represented England all the way up to U21 level.
The 6ft1 centre half was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is a product of Manchester United’s youth academy.
Tuanzebe joined Villa on loan at the beginning of the season, going on to make 26 appearances for the Birmingham club this campaign.
Tuanzebe has also already made eight appearances for the United first team. The big defender looks a solid prospect.
The statement doesn’t say whether Rangers want the talented youngster on loan or on a permanent deal. But there is no doubt Rangers will be on the hunt for at least two new centre backs next season.

The Manchester United talent, who is valued at £4.3m (€5m) by Transfermarkt, would help plug the gap left by the duo.
