Rangers defender Joe Worrall has been a key player for the side this season, but it looks like he’s set to play his final games for the club.
At least during this current spell at Ibrox. It’s news we all pretty much knew anyway, but Football Insider is claiming it’s been confirmed he’ll return to Nottingham Forest.

This follows on from Joe Worrall saying he’s “happy to go back” to Forest come June [originally The Sun]. He’s clearly enjoyed his time in Glasgow, but with only a few games left to play, it looks like the end of the road for the player at Ibrox.
The big defender missed Rangers 3-0 win over Motherwell at the weekend through injury. Nikola Katic proved an able deputy and Rangers will be hoping he can step up and replace Worrall in the side next year.
Nikola Katic will be looking to take Joe Worrall’s place
More than that, Katic will be looking to retain his place in the side as we enter the final furlong of this season. Nikola Katic is a full-time Rangers player whilst Worrall is, of course, a loanee.
But Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has usually preferred Joe Worrall in the bigger games. And not without good reason – 22-year-old Worrall has, for the most part, stepped up when called upon this year.

But it now looks increasingly likely he’ll be playing his final games for the club in the coming weeks. That’s if he can wrestle his space back from Nikola Katic.
Joe Worrall was also embroiled in some off-field drama recently too. The big defender got himself into hot water for swearing at rivals Celtic in an online video.
But did it deserve this extreme reference from a major national news outlet?
